4 Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd and Attract More Clients: Part 3

In last week's blog post, I told you how, by choosing and specializing in a specific niche, you can make yourself stand out in your industry.

This week, I'll tell you what you can do if you have a diverse skill set that makes it tempting to focus on multiple niches instead of narrowing it down.

Why focus all your skills into one niche?
Aside from the 4 reasons I gave you last week, there is the question of what you want to be known for.

Do you want to be known for multiple good-but-not-groundbreaking products in multiple niches?

Or would you rather be known for being an expert who helps one group of people in a deluxe, unique, comprehensive way that no one else in your field could imitate even if they tried?

Your unique skill set enables you to create a product or program that only you could have made.

But how do you focus all your skills into serving 1 niche, even if some of them seem incompatible?
Here's how to combine your skills into one jaw-dropping product.
First, make a list of all your skills and things you can teach. Don't leave anything out. For example, you might write:

  • Goal-setting

  • Relationship skills

  • Time management

  • Communication skills

  • Running a business

  • Clearing out emotional blockages

  • Creating a success mindset

  • Ghostwriting

This list might tempt you to become a business coach, ghostwriter and relationship coach, dividing your time and energy across three different businesses. But here's what you can do instead:

Next, pick a group of people you want to help, and a specific problem with which you want to help them. For example, heterosexual men who want to find a wife.

Then, with each skill, write down at least one way in which it could help your chosen niche. The result might look something like this:

  • Goal-setting - Help them determine exactly what they want in a wife and relationship, so they know what they're looking for.

  • Relationship skills - Help them to build and strengthen their relationship once they've started to date.

  • Time management - Help them make the time to go out and meet women, and to spend time on their relationship once they have one.

  • Communication skills - Help them to communicate their needs effectively, and to understand their partner's needs. Also, help them to resolve conflicts with grace and love instead of yelling and anger.

  • Running a business - Help them to become financially successful, so they can support a family. Also, help them to run their business in a way that doesn't eat all their time and turn them into absentee partners.

  • Clearing out emotional blockages - Remove the old wounds, habits and mindsets that cause them to push love away and sabotage their relationships.

  • Creating a success mindset - Help them to develop the confidence, happiness and optimism they need to attract a healthy relationship.

  • Ghostwriting - If they decide to use online dating, write their profile for them.

Well, would you look at that - you just created the outline for a product!

And not just any product - a unique, comprehensive product that uses your inimitable skill set to its fullest advantage, to serve your clients in a way that no one else can.

You also may have narrowed your niche even further, because this product looks like it's particularly suited to busy male business owners who want to find love, but are struggling to find the time while building their business.

Having narrowed it down this far, you now have a VERY clear picture of who your target audience is, which enables you to optimize both the placement and the wording of your marketing for its best possible effect.
